    This summer I competed on the Rose City Horse Show Circuit for the fifth year. Each year there are five horse shows. The points that you accumulate at each horse show are based on how well you place in each class. The placings run 1st through 6th and these points go to year-end awards. As well as year-end awards there are also high point awards for each show. There is High Point and Reserve High Point. Basically this is awarded to whoever has the most points accumulated by the end of the show day.
    This summer I made sure that I didn’t miss any horse shows. During the previous summer I missed two and did not qualify for any end of the year awards and lost valuable experiences with my horse in the show ring. Also this year I competed with a new horse. We made it to each show and by the end of the final show earned reserve high point. Each horse show that I attended made me a better equestrian and showed me how important attendance was. I advanced so much with my horse each time and was noticed by other trainers as well! I learned that hard work and dedication pay off and is noticed by those around you.
    My experience this summer on the Rose City Horse Show Circuit helped prepare me for my future career by showing me that discipline, attendance, and hard work can lead to great progress. I know that in my future career, Music Therapy, my attendance, dedication, and hard work will be key to my patient’s success. I will have to make sure to keep on course for not only myself and my job but also to give the maximum help that I can to my clients. Hard work will be the only way to help some of my patients and in the long run I will be able to help even if only through small improvements here and there. Good attendance will also simply help me keep my job! This experience will help me in my young adult life by preparing me to go through college and be diligent in the fact that I don’t miss any classes. I know that if I try my best to have good attendance I will be able to succeed and dedicate myself to my studies and thus build a good foundation for my future career and life.
