Exhibit: Powerpoint Presentation on H.I.V and A.I.D.S
Benchmark: Academics
Skills: Top piece of work in a Health course
I took health my sophomore year because I didn’t get to take it my freshman year. I learned many things in that course that will help me for the rest of my life. I learned about my body itself, the diseases that can affect it, and also what I should do to keep it running to the best of its ability. For my exhibit from this class I have a project I did on H.I.V and A.I.D.S I scored a 97% on this project and learned a lot while putting it together. I chose this piece of work because of the valuable information that I gained through it not only including the information in the project but how I learned how to present information in a logical manner specifically following a rubric. The rubric for the assignment was extremely helpful and it laid out exactly needed to be included and how you were supposed to go through each phase of the powerpoint.
In my future as a young adult knowing about HIV and AIDS could certainly be considered common knowledge. It is something that you should know about and be aware of but many people don’t know a lot about it! This project definitely gave me the knowledge necessary for my young adult life and very successfully made me aware of the consequences that could come from not only sexual promiscuity but also from doing drugs. I also learned about the origin of AIDS and how it came about. Not only will this knowledge be apparent and valuable to my young adult life but it will also help me in my career. This project itself taught me how to organize my data in a logical sequence but also how to research a present a specific topic. I will be able to use this in my future career because I will have to create reports on how my patients are doing and what, if any, progress they are making.
I am grateful for this project and everything that I learned through it. Not only did I learn about the origin, the transmission, and the effects of HIV and AIDS on the body but also what I learned about how to put a lot of information together in order to present in a logical and effective way.
