One Versus Society is not an ordinary class. In this class you read books where the individual is in usually in some sort of a totalitarian or communistic society. Throughout this course you read books such as 1984, A Brave New World, Anthem, Farenheight 451, and Animal Farm. Then you dig deep into to the details of the story to understand the character's point of view and how the character's change from the beginning to the end while taking on their extreme society.
For my exhibit I have a test that I received a 94% on. I have always loved reading and this class is right up my alley. You read the book, take quizzes in class, and also go over it in class then have a test at the end of the book. I excel in remembering details about what I read. I received a 32 on the ACT in reading so this class is something I am good at and also thoroughly enjoy.
I chose this assignment because it will help me in not only my young adult life but my future career. Throughout college I will have a surplus of reading to do for all four years and pushing myself to get through chapters of a book each day in order to prepare for a quiz is great for helping to prepare for college. This will also help me in my future career because it gave me deadlines each day to work with. I would have to have a certain number of chapters done each day and also it helped me to remember what I was reading because I would have to use it later. This will help in my career in Music Therapy because I will have to listen to specific details from the parents and doctors and also apply what I learned in college to be able to help each individual patient to the best of my ability. This course has helped me tremendously in preparing for my young adult life and future career.
